"Look- up in athe sky!" Sokka shouted, pointing to the steadily darkening skyline and a large red ball of fire hurtling towards them, "It's a bird! Its a plane! No, it's.... our impending doom!"
He got a couple of glares from the people around him, but as the Fire Nation soldiers stopped fighting, everyone's faces turned to the sky. The Fire Nation's benders stood as if in a trance, standing stock-still and staring off into space.
"Ummm..... guys? This is not good," Toph said worriedly, "Where's Aang? Hasn't he defeated Ozai yet with Zuko?"
The palace doors flung open and everyone stared at the shadowy figure within.
Please be Aang, please be Aang. You could almost hear the thought from everyone in battle.
And out stepped Lord Ozai, throwing down Aang and Zuko's bodies on the steps.
It was over. Everything was over.
Katara was the first one to snap out of the depressing trance the bodies had thrown over everyone, spinning around with a cry of fury and water whipping every still Fire Nation soldier in sight, "I will not go down without a fight!" she screamed.
Slowly, gradually, more people followed. But time had been wasted, and a few soldiers later the firebenders were wide awake and full-up on power. The comet hurdled on regardless of the events below, oblivious to the fact that it had condemned them all. Fighting broke out.
But it was hopeless.
"That day was the day when we wiped out all the other nations. It is thanks to Ozai we are dominant and alone," the grandmother tucked her grandson into bed tiredly, "Now, wasn't that a nice bedtime story? Aren't you glad it happened?"
The boy pretended to be asleep, but inside he was sickened by his nation's actions. He felt like he was going to through up.
And that was the day the newly dubbed Fire Tribe began the revolt.

It sucks, thankyouverymuch.
